SYNOPSIS: Agnes, an English-bred farmer's daughter engaged to a prosperous cheesemaker, has committed an adulterous tryst on the eve of her wedding night. She confides her fears of family ruin to her precocious younger sister, Adylyne, who suggests a possible solution. Enter Ketheron, a lesbian charlatan who, in song and with an air of trickery, urges hymen mending. The sisters stew in doubt, but must decide before the fated date. Set amid an old West town, this bawdy tale is sure to tickle anyone with a love for the irreverent and the ridiculous.PRODUCTION NOTES: “Ketheron’s Bucket-Mending & Hymen Emporium” was penned by Nicole Hammersla as a play and produced in San Francisco by the female-driven sketch comedy group, Monday Night Foreplays of PianoFight Productions. From our first viewing in April 2011, we wasted no time in proposing an adaptation. With production set for early July, we worked on the script, recorded songs, and conducted rehearsals in short order. Filming took place over two days in Half Moon Bay, California. The project proceeded at a strong clip with crew and post-production resources from the San Francisco-based film co-op, Scary Cow Productions.
